Set across a 5x3 grid featuring 20 pay lines, Shield of Sparta splits its play between a rugged coastal location in the base game and a battle scene in the bonus round.
The experience is framed by grand Ancient Greek architecture that complements the various warrior, helm, sword, ship, and chariot symbols, but what sets it apart is the two types of Bonus symbols on offer.
Bonus and Magnetic Bonus symbols will appear on all reels, and when two of either symbol hit, they are locked in place, while the rest of the symbols go through another respin. Landing three or more Bonus or Magnetic Bonus symbols triggers the free spins.
Landing three, four, or five of the two types of Bonus symbols awards 10, 15, or 20 free spins, respectively. For the free spins round, the positions where the Bonus symbols landed are highlighted with a frame. Following this, whenever a new bonus symbol lands in a marked position, it is upgraded.
